Spaniard linked with West Brom Job

06 January 2014 - 12:45

Reports suggest that West Bromwich Albion are close to appointing former Osasuna boss Jose Luis Mendilibar as their new manager.

  • Chelsea have discussed move for Alejandro Garnacho
  • Chelsea to make bid for Antonio Silva

  • The Baggies have been without a manager since the sacking of Steve Clarke and have spoken to several candidates since the departure of the 50 year old.

According to the Birmingham Mail, the Albion officials held a meeting for the appointment of the manager before next week’s Premier League match against Southampton and it now appears that the 52 year old Mendilibar is the favorite to land the job after initially being interviewed before Christmas.

The Former Real Valladolid and Athletic Bilbao manager was sacked as Osasuna boss in September after a poor start to the season.
