Lee Congerton lined up as Sunderland director of football

Hamburg's technical director Lee Congerton has been linked with a return to the United Kingdom as Sunderland's newly appointed director of football.

Frank Arnesen, who was originally the sporting director of Hamburg, appointed Congerton the club's technical director back in 2011. He has been linked with moves to England in the past and West Bromwich Albion were amongst those interested in the Welshman.<br />

Sunderland parted company with Roberto de Fanti this week and are looking for a replacement.
