Ivory Coast international Lacina Traore could be set to stay with Monaco despite talk of a loan move to Roberto Martinez's side. The burly forward had been linked with a deal to see him join Everton temporarily.

The striker has now been told he might have to stay put at Monaco after an injury to star striker Radamel Falcao. The Colombian striker picked up an injury this week that could keep him out of action for over three weeks.

Traore had already received a work permit that would have entitled him to be able to play in the Premier League.
