Leverkusen sign Valencia winger

Bayer Leverkusen have confirmed the signing of Valencia winger Andres Guardado on loan till the end of the season. The club will have an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

  • The signing of Guardado should boost the Leverkusen squad who are sitting second in the Bundesliga table and are also involved in Champions League where they will face Ligue 1 Champions Paris Saint-Germain next month.



    This is what club’s sporting director Rudi Voeller said about the player,



    "Guardado is a very experienced player. He was a regular in Valencia and played in the Champions League with the club last season. He's a leading player with his national team."



    The 27 year old has been capped 99 times by his country Mexico and can play on either wing and can also play as left back.



    Guardado is one of three players that are heading for Valencia exit, others being Helder Postiga and Dorlan pabon.
