Atletico Madrid could name their stadium after Aragones

Spanish club Atletico Madrid could name their stadium after their former coach and player Luis Aragones. The 75 year old sadly passed away on Saturday 1st of February.

  • There are now calls from the Club’s fans to name the stadium after Aragones who took charge of the club on four separate occasions the first one coming in 1974. He also went on to win eight trophies with Atleti including the La Liga title in 1977.



    Aragones was a legend at the club as a player too having scored 172 goals for the capital club and help them to three la Liga titles.



    Aragones had success with the national side too having helped Spanish National side to 2208 European Championships.



    As for now the club’s stance is unclear.
