Real Betis want 31 year old Paraguayan central midfielder Carlos Paredes from Sporting Lisbon. The player has played for Porto and Reggina in recent years, and Betis are expected to bolster their midfield before the end of the summer.
The experienced player could be what new coach Hector Cuper is looking for to add experience to a side which finished a very disappointing 16th in La Liga last season.
