Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood is considering a surprise bid for former Spurs defender Steven Caulker at the end of the season. The England international joined Cardiff City last summer.

With Cardiff City's long term Premier League future in some doubt, it is understood that Caulker is planning a move away from Wales for another top flight side and his former club Tottenham are amongst the teams considering a bid.

Caulker has been one of the shining lights of a relatively difficult campaign for Cardiff City this season and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has privately told the club's board that he expects Caulker to demand a transfer if the Welsh club are relegated from the Premier League in May.
