A Celtic Cupâ tournament played between Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and Wales was agreed âin principleâ by representatives of the respective countriesâ football associations on Monday night.
No official dates and fixtures have been finalised, but a joint statement released by all four associations confirmed the establishment of a tournament that had been mooted over the last few years.
The statement released by the FAI was signed by Howard Wells, chief executive of the IFA, FAI chief executive John Delaney, Football Association of Wales general secretary David Collins and Scottish Football Association chief executive Gordon Smith.
