Luuk de Jong wants Magpies stay

Luuk de Jong wants permanent deal at Newcastle United

10 April 2014 - 23:15

Newcastle United's on-loan striker Luuk de Jong has insisted that he wants to make a permanent move to the Tyneside outfit at the end of the season.

  • Chelsea in talks to sign French goalkeeper?
  • Chelsea & Man Utd keeping tabs on Rayan?
  • The Dutchman who joined the Magpies from Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach on-loan during the winter transfer window, failed to make any immediate impression and has failed to find the net in seven appearances so far.

However, he is keen on improving on his game, and could adapt to the English style of play during the next campaign.

"I just want to improve my game every game," He said. "That's why I love being here. I hope to be important for the team, and after this season, I hope to stay.

"I like [English football]. It's more physical than Germany and Holland. It's how I like to play. There are a lot of aerial duels."
