Colombian midfielder Edwin Valencia will be missing from his country's World Cup squad after he was unable to recovery from injury.

Colombia's coach, Jose Pekerman, confirmed to the press that the Fluminese star would be absent: "Edwin Valencia will not go to the World Cup. The injuries and problems Valencia has carried do not allow him to reach the form the national team needs in the World Cup. We are forced to leave him out, considering that he will not make it in the best physical condition."
