Manchester City have agreed a three year contract with right back Bacary Sagna. The French international has long been expected to leave Arsenal in favour of a move north to the Premier League champions and player and his new club have made an agreement this weekend.
With Sagna currently on international duty for France at the World Cup, the French defender had been keen to agree a deal before the start of the tournament so that he could focus on his international commitments.
Arsenal confirmed that Sagna would be moving to City, in a post on their official website.
"Bacary Sagna has agreed to join Manchester City after his contract with Arsenal expires on June 30," said an Arsenal statement.
"An integral part of Arsenal's defence over the past seven seasons, the France international brought his time with the Gunners to a fitting close last month when he helped the team win the FA Cup in his final match.
"Everyone at Arsenal Football Club would like to thank Bacary for his fantastic contribution, and wish him all the best for the future."
