Sneijder to Manchester United?

Manchester United are reportedly plotting a move for Dutchman Wesley Sneijder from Galatasaray.

  • Gary Neville breaks silence on Ruben Amorim

  • The Turkish giants have informed the Red Devils that they will need to splash out £16 million for the Netherlands star.

Wesley Sneijder had earlier said that he would like to move to Manchester United if Louis Van Gaal pursues the midfielder; Van Gaal is Sneijder's coach for the Netherlands.

Sneijder was reportedly not going to be chosen for final 23-member squad for World Cup 2014 due to his lacklustre performances in the Turkish Super Lig. But his World Cup performances have been impressive with a tournament-saving 88th minute equaliser by the player in the second round match against Mexico (which Netherlands eventually won by 2-1).

Sneijder has a £16 million buy-out clause in his contract and Galatasaray will let him go if any club with the right price bids for the player.

Sneijder agreed a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Turkish club in the 2013 winter transfer window for a fee of €7.5 million.
