Greek defender signs for Fulham

09 July 2014 - 17:34

Fulham have announced the loan signing of Kostas Stafylidis from Bayer Leverkusen.

  • £47m star to undergo Chelsea medical on Friday
  • Chelsea make first move to sign French centre-back
  • The Premier League side has agreed a season-long loan deal with the Greek’s parent club Bayer Leverkusen with the option of a permanent deal.

Stafylidis began his career with PAOK in the Greek Superleague, making 16 league appearances before being signed by his Bundesliga club.

The 20 year-old has subsequently made only one first-team appearance in the Bundesliga, spending most of the last season with Leverkusen’s ‘B’ team.

The Greek defender has become Fulham’s sixth summer signing as manager Felix Magath looks to regain Premier League status after being relegated last season.
