Frank Lampard has agreed a deal that will see him play on loan at Manchester City until January. The England international attacking midfielder will then go to play for New York FC in the MLS.
There had been some indication that Lampard would indeed stay in the Premier League for the next five months until the January Major League Soccer season begins. This has been confirmed today after the Citizens announced a deal had been agreed with Lampard and his agent for a short term loan deal.
Lampard had numerous options but opted to stay in England until his American adventure begins in 2015.
"I will have to keep fit. I'll have to train at the very top level, whether that's on my own or with a club somewhere, I'll have to see," Lampard said. "Of course I'll keep fit and make sure my levels don't drop too much.
"When we come here for preseason I want to be ready to go. I want to fly out of the blocks. I don't want to come out sluggish."
