Arsenal close in on Mputu

06 December 2007 - 23:37

Arsenal are apparently closing in on a permanent deal for trialist Tresor Mputu. Mputu, who has scored 34 goals in 30 league games for his team, has been on an initial 10 day trial period and Wenger has already run the rule over him.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Mputu's agent Congo has praised the forward, and Arsenal could snatch his signature by this weekend.

"While Seville have also shown great interest, I believe Tresor will end up in England," said the agent.

"Arsenal have given TP Mazembe until Monday to respond to their offer.

"I'm convinced that the deal will be completed after the weekend."
