Crystal Palace have broken their club transfer record to sign midfielder James McArthur from Wigan Athletic. Palace have paid £7.5 million to sign the Scottish international.
Burnley had been locked in talks with Wigan Athletic regarding McArthur for over two weeks but were unable to agree a fee for the player. However, Palace yesterday contacted Wigan directly and immediately matched the club's valuation for the 26-year-old midfielder.
McArthur has signed a four year contract at the Latics.
