Dutch midfielder Kevin Strootman will stay at AS Roma, even though the likes of Manchester United hold a long standing interest in the cnetral midfielder. Strootman has four years remaining on his contract.
Roma's club president James Palotta has moved swiftly to rule out a transfer away for their star midfielder, who has started off the Serie A campaign this year in excellent fashion.
“There has been non stop reporting in UK newspapers about Kevin Strootman and Manchester United,” said the club's president.
“Kevin Strootman is not for sale and has never ever been discussed in that vein at Roma. They are wasting paper.
“We consider Kevin an integral highly valued partner in our long term plans.”
