Steve Clarke: fired too soon?

Steve Clarke slams West Brom

24 September 2014 - 13:39

Former WBA manager Steve Clarke has slammed his former club, insisting that they fired him far too quickly. West Brom have struggled since disposing of Clarke as their head coach.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao

  • Clarke helped WBA up to 8th place in the Premier League, but that didn't stop club chairman Jeremy Peace from firing the Scot.

"I know I was moved on before my time because the crowd didn’t have the chance to get on my back and give me stick. When that happens you know you have maybe gone a little bit early," Clarke said.

"It was a strange season the second season, we started really poorly, I didn’t feel as though we had built the squad properly in the summer, then we got a few players right on the deadline day, then we had a really good spell when we picked up some good points and played well."
