Manchester United could secure the services of Netherlands international Nigel de Jong for nothing at the end of the season.

The Dutch midfielder's existing deal at AC Milan expires in the summer, and talks have stalled over a contract extension.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the talented midfielder is keen on a return to the Premier League, and the Red Devils could land his signature on a free transfer come the end of the current campaign.

De Jong previously plyed his trade in the Premier League with Manchester City.
