Berbatov going nowhere

20 December 2007 - 16:13

Juande Ramos has insisted that Dimitar Berbatov will not be going anywhere anytime soon as the Tottenham boss has revealed clubs have been interested in acquiring the Bulgarian's services. Berbatov grabbed four superb goals against Reading.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • "He made a great contribution against Reading. Magnificent," the Spaniard explained.. "He is a very valuable player for us.

"But I cannot assure that he is going to stay at the club because the chairman has to decide that.

"The chairman knows I want Berbatov to stay. If it was up to me we would not lose him but there are different circumstances and factors that we have to take into account such as the player's opinion and feelings.

"If it was up to me he would continue with us."

"There is no chance Berbatov will leave in January. On the contrary, we need Berbatov because if we want to reach our objectives we need a player of his class," Ramos told The Sun.

"I can only tell you that Berbatov is a great player and with so little money it's impossible to take him.

"They have to put a lot of money on the table and many good players to compensate for the quality of Berbatov.

"Dimitar for us is a player who is not for sale. It will be very difficult, very complicated for anyone to take him."
