The German international has revealed his desire to leave BVB in the summer, following a disastrous spell in Bundesliga, which saw them finish in seventh place.

Reports in Germany claim that United's hierarchy have decided against a move for the former Nuremberg man, due to his injury woes in recent years.

German giants Bayern Munich have recently been linked with a move for the 24-year-old.
