West Ham United are closing in on the signing of Barcelona midfielder Alex Song on a free transfer.
The former Cameroon international was impressive for the Hammers on loan last season, and this led to the speculation that the East Londoners could swoop for the player's services on a permanent basis this summer.
Reports in Spain claim that the Hammers are confident of signing the former Arsenal man, having convinced Barca into letting go of the holding midfielder for nothing this summer.
Song made 31 appearances for the Hammers in all competitions last season.
