The legendary midfielder is available for a Bosman transfer following the expiry of his contract at Leicester City.
Cambiasso has been tipped to make a switch to Major League Soccer this summer following a good season with the Foxes in the Premier League.
However, The Sun cites that Villa have made a shocking offer to sign the former Argentina international.
The 34-year-old scored five goals in 33 games for Leicester City last term.
