Newcastle have upped their initial bid for striker and are confident that a deal will be agreed before the start of the new season. The Toon Army have already been in contact with Austin's representatives.

It is understood that Newcastle will make a fresh bid for the forward and will pay a reported 12 million GBP for the striker. Newcastle have some concerns over the fitness record of Austin and so have indicated they are unlikely to bid more money for Austin after their most recent transfer bid.
