The Spain international made his move to Spurs two seasons ago, having been renowned for his excellent goal scoring exploits with Valencia.

However, he has struggled to keep him with the pace of the game in the Premier League, and is now keen on a move back to his home nation.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the 30-year-old is holding talks with the Yellow Submarines regarding a potential move this summer.

Spurs currently rate the striker at £12m.
