Southampton look favourites to land the signature of defender Ron Vlaar this summer, according to reports.
The Netherlands international is a free agent following his release from Aston Villa earlier this month.
Vlaar has earlier stated that he would love to remain in the Premier League, and The Express claims that the Saints are front-runners to snap up his services.
It is added that Serie A side Lazio pulled out of the race due to concerns over the player's injury record.
