Stoke City are inching closer to sealing a summer deal for Netherlands forward Ibrahim Afellay, according to reports.

The 29-year-old is a free agent following his release from Barcelona earlier in the summer.

Afellay struggled to clinch a regular spot at Camp Nou, and was loaned out to Schalke and Olympiakos in recent seasons.

Sky Sports News now cites that the talented winger is undergoing a medical at Stoke ahead of his proposed switch to the Britannia Stadium.
