Man Utd break profit records

Man Utd break profit records

07 January 2008 - 22:13

On Thursday Premiership champions Manchester United are set to reveal their record breaking profit figures. Their huge increase in turnover is supposedly in the region of £245 million.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • They are expected to be open about what fees have been paid to agents, which will please the Premier League regulators if not other clubs.

One of the reasons for the increase comes from the fact United have for the first time included their long-term shirt deal with Nike in the figures, prompting suggestions they were angered by Arsenal's claim to be England's richest club when they announced a turnover of 201 million pounds in September.

Man Utd are expected to have turned over significant amounts of further income from the development at their stadium and winning the Premiership.
