Arsenal are understood to have pulled out of a deal to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani, according to reports.

The Uruguayan international had been tipped to make a move to the Emirates on transfer deadline day.

However, it is thought that the Gunners rejected the option as the 28-year-old did not have a sell-on value, The Mirror claims.

The Gunners became the only side to have not signed an outfield player in Europe's top divisions this summer.
