Newcastle United have reportedly placed a &pound13m price tag on star midfielder Moussa Sissoko.

The France international had been tipped to seek a fresh challenge away from Tyneside over the summer, but the club somehow managed to keep hold of the star player.

Sissoko has since revealed his desire to make a move to a top club in Europe, with the Magpies still lingering at the bottom of the Premier League.

Calciomercato now understands that the Magpies will be open to the player's sale provided any club matches their &pound13m asking price in January.

It is added that AC Milan are one among the favourites to land Sissoko's signature in the winter transfer window.

Sissoko joined the Magpies from French side Toulouse in January 2013.
