Aston Villa have opted to recall defender Aly Cissokho from a season-long loan spell at Porto.
The France international had fallen out-of-favour under former Villa boss Tim Sherwood and was shipped out on a temporary move to the Primeira Liga giants.
However, new manager Remy Garde is known to have had a good relationship with Cissokho at Lyon, and he has recalled the player following a season-ending injury to left-back Jordan Amavi.
Cissokho will be eligible to ply his trade for the Villains at the turn of the year.
Villa are currently rockbottom of the Premier League with just six points.
