The 27-year-old was stripped from his captaincy at the start of the season, and has since then featured from the substitutes' bench.

Recent speculation had claimed that the Italy international could favour a move to the Premier League with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Everton vying for his services.

However, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Canaries are heading the queue having began negotiations with the player's agent.

Ranocchia has made over 150 appearances for the San Siro outfit till date.
