Premier League high-flyers Leicester City are said to have made a formal approach for AC Milan midfielder Nigel de Jong.
The Foxes are expected to sign a new holding midfielder this month with Gokhan Inler considering a potential exit from the King Power Stadium.
According to The Mirror, Claudio Ranieri's side have submitted a bid in the region of £2m for De Jong, who has fallen out-of-favour at the San Siro outfit.
In addition to this, the Foxes are ready to pay an additional sum of £1m, should the former Manchester City star guide the club to Champions League football next term.
Leicester City are currently second in the Premier League, two points adrift of leaders Arsenal.
