Arsenal have emerged as favourites to land the services of Watford star Odion Ighalo at the end of the season.

The Nigerian international has recently suggested that he would stay put at the Hornets unless he receives an exceptional offer from his dream club Manchester United.

However, The Mail understands that the Gunners scouts have been closely monitoring Ighalo's proceedings and regard the player as the perfect fit for the club.

It is added that the club could come up with a substantial offer for the 26-year-old in the summer.

Ighalo has netted 14 goals in 20 outings for his side this season.
