Chelsea have reportedly made a formal bid for Shakhtar Donetsk star Alex Teixeira.
Interim Blues boss Guus Hiddink is said to be keen on bringing in fresh faces this month as he seeks to guide the club to the top half of the Premier League standings.
Football Insider claims that the Blues are desperate to land the Brazilian attacker during the transfer window, and have lodged an offer of around £24m.
It is added that Shakhtar will evaluate offers from all clubs before coming up with a final decision on the player.
Teixeira has scored 22 goals in 15 league games for the Ukrainian giants this season.
