The Yellow Submarines Villarreal are still trying to sign Julio Baptista from Real Madrid. It is believed that Villarreal would like Baptista on loan, but Real would prefer to sell Baptista on a long term deal.

Villarreal had been linked with a series of strikers after Diego Forlan's move, and Julio Baptista had been interesting Milan. Milan have only offered to take the player on loan, but now Villarreal could be persuaded to shell out up to £8m to sign Baptista on a permanent deal.
