Newcastle United are said to be close to sealing a temporary move for Roma forward Seydou Doumbia.
The Ivory Coast international spent the first half of the campaign on loan at CSKA Moscow, but a permanent deal failed to materialize.
Doumbia has been tipped to seek fresh pastures away from Stadio Olimpico this month, and according to Italian outlet Di Marzio, the Magpies have reached an agreement over a short-team loan contract.
It is added that the Tyneside outfit will have option to turn the deal into a permanent one at the end of the 2015/16 season.
The 28-year-old scored 11 goals during his recent loan spell at CSKA.
