Lazio deny Felipe Anderson to Man Utd deal

22 February 2016 - 15:18

Lazio have moved to quash rumours circulating that they have agreed to sell Felipe Anderson to Manchester United for €60m.

  • Arsenal to hijack Chelsea deal for English winger?
  • Arsenal & Chelsea battling to sign Ajax defender

  • The Italian club issued the following statement via their official website: 'In reference to statements attributed to President Claudio Lotito regarding the alleged sale of the player Felipe Anderson , S.S. Lazio noted that these are devoid of any foundation.'

Speculation over the 22-year-old Brazilian's future had been rife, with reports emerging this morning claiming that club president, Claudio Lotito, had been overheard claiming a deal with United was already in place.

Il Messaggero reported that Lotito had said: 'I signed Felipe Anderson for €8m and have already re-sold him for €60m'

'Next year he'll go to Manchester United.'

Lazio have now poured cold water on the rumour, claiming that Lotito did not make any such claims.

United had been strongly linked with the talented, yet inconsistent young attacker in January, but the Old Trafford club decided against making any additions during the mid-season window.

With much uncertainty surrounding United at present, several high-profile players have recently been linked with summer moves to the club, However, it would appear that Lazio are keen to deny that Felipe Anderson will be one of them.
