Tim Borowski has joined Bayern Munich from Bundesliga rivals Werder Bremen. The midfielder has joined claiming money played no part in his decision to join the Championship rivals.

The 27-year-old will move to the Allianz Arena in the summer, having spent the whole of his career to date with Werder.



However, Borowski says that a new challenge is what he is really looking for with Bayern, not the lure of a big-money contract.



He told reporters: "It's not a question of money, but one of a new sporting challenge.



"I made my decision early so that I could be open and honest about the whole situation.



"I didn't want to lie or be hypocritical, but I expect there will be some people who won't understand me."
