Vanden Borre to Genoa?

19 January 2008 - 22:26

Anthony Vanden Borre could be heading to Genoa in Italy after their president admitted an interest in the talented young Belgian defender. The player is set to join the club on Tuesday.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
  • Genoa president Enrico Preziosi said: “We have reached an agreement with Fiorentina to swap with Papa Waigo if Vanden Borre decides to go ahead. We don’t want to give Papa Waigo to any club but we will let him go to Fiorentina. Waigo is a good player and we don’t really want to lose him.”

“We need to sort out a lot of part owned players first before we spend any money. We need to ensure that we balance our finances with results on the pitch. We will weigh up our options at the right time. From March onwards we will begin to discuss who comes and who goes."
