Rojo on Villareal radar

Villareal enquire on Man Utd full-back

17 July 2016 - 07:16

Spanish side Villareal have made an approach to land Manchester United defender Marcus Rojo. The Argentine is currently deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.

  • Arsenal join Chelsea in race to sign Monaco star
  • Confirmed Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Man Utd, new injury for the Blues
  • Rojo joined the Red Devils from Sporting Lisbon in 2014, and has since appeared in 53 games for the Mancunian giants.

Mourinho is thought to have recently highlighted his intention to offload the defender, and according to Marca, Villareal has launched a tentative enquiry.

The Yellow Submarines have a good relationship with the Red Devils having previously shipped Eric Bailly to Old Trafford earlier this summer.

Rojo, who primarily operates in the left-back role, is equally adept featuring in the central defensive position.

The 26-year-old is currently on an extended holiday following his exploits for Argentina at the centenary edition of the Copa America.
