Everton striker Romelu Lukaku has admitted that he was flattered to be linked with a return to Stamford Bridge last summer. The Belgian international has been in fine touch for the Toffees this season.
The 23-year-old was the subject of constant speculation in the summer with Chelsea being one among the main contenders for his signature.
However, after holding crunch discussions with the Toffees' hierarchy, he opted to stay committed to the club for the ongoing campaign.
Speaking ahead of the Chelsea game, Lukaku revealed it was a compliment to be associated with his former side, but his focus for now remains on being successful at Goodison Park.
Lukaku has amassed seven goals and three assists for Everton this term, and he will seek to get on the scoresheet when his side visit Chelsea over the weekend.
