Tottenham appear to be a step closer to signing Middlesbrough defender Jonathan Woodgate after it appeared Newcastle had failed in their swoop for the defender.

Keegan said: "At this moment I don't think he's going to come to Newcastle.



"I'm almost certain he's going to move somewhere else - it looks like we've lost him and I'm very disappointed. It doesn't look like he's going to come."



Tottenham's Juande Ramos has been looking to add another central defender to his squad for several months and may finally land Woodgate on Monday.
