30 January 2008 - 19:02

Samuel Eto's has broken the African Nations goalscoring record by scoring two goals to help Cameroon beat Sudan 3-0, and qualify to the quarter finals.

  • Chelsea & Arsenal handed blow in Bundesliga striker pursuit

  • Samuel Eto's has now scored a total of 16 goals in all Arican nations games he has played in.

Cameroon have now gone through with Egypt to the quarter finals, as Egypt drew 1-1 with Zambia to top the group.

Cameroon dominated from the start and really never looked in threat of having their lead threatened.

Eto'o opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Yousif Alaeldin brought down Toulouse midfielder Achille Emana.

The second goal came only seven minutes later when Joel Epalle drilled in a dangerous cross-cum-shot from the right and, following an unfortunate bout of pinball, Mohamed Ali Khider diverted the ball into his own net.

Eto'o rounded off the win with a typically cool finish on the 90th minute to guide Cameroon through.
