Ecuadorian international Felipe Caicedo has joined Man City for around £5 million from Swiss club Basel. The striker had been chased by a number of Europe's biggest clubs.

City have beaten a host of clubs, including Valencia, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, Milan and Juventus to Caicedo's signature.



Sven Goran Eriksson has moved for Caicedo after allowing Georgios Samaras and Rolando Bianchi to leave the club on loan.
