Coppell denies Lita bid

Coppell denies Lita bid

02 February 2008 - 00:50

Reading boss Steve Coppell has insisted that rumours Bolton had offered £7 million to sign Leroy Lita was rubbish and that nobody had made a solid offer for the striker.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • "That just never happened, full stop," Coppell told Reading World.

"I've been saying all week that we've not had any bids.

"We had a few phone calls about players just asking 'what if?' but there was hardly any of that.

"It's all news to me, and I never got the call yesterday."
