United and Arsenal chase Villarreal star

29 March 2017 - 07:50

Manchester United and Arsenal are set to battle it out to sign Villarreal winger Samuel Castillejo. The Premier League giants are in the chase for Castillejo, who has impressed regularly in La Liga this season.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Pacy left winger Samuel Castillejo has been a regular in the Villarreal team this season, making thirty seven appearances for the club, with a return of three goals and five assists.

At the age of twenty two, the Spaniard has a bright future ahead of him, whether that be in La Liga or one of Europe's other elite leagues. Il Mattino reports that Arsenal and Manchester United are currently leading the race to sign Castillejo, however Manchester City and Napoli are also interested, according to the Daily Star.

With the way that transfer fees are constantly rising, a young, in form player, who is massively important to his team, will not come cheap. Despite this being Castillejo's first full season in La Liga with Villarreal, it is expected that any team wanting to take him away from Estadio de la Ceramica will have to pay in the region of £35 million.
