Bournemouth consider move for Benoit Costil

Bournemouth will make an initial offer to sign French goalkeeping prospect Benoit Costil at the end of the 2016-17 season.

  • Reports from France suggest that Bournemouth will match Rennes' initial asking price of 4.5 million euros for the shot stopper.The Rennes goalkeeper has been with his current club since 2011, when he arrived at Rennes from fellow French side Sedan. Costil has been consider one of the most under rated goalkeepers in his home country and has indicated that he has always had interest in a move to the Premier League. Now it is odds on that Costil will make a move to one of Europe's strongest divisions.Bournemouth currently play Artur Boruc in goal, but the Cherries' manager Eddie Howe has recently indicated that he is ready to bring in a long term replacement for the Polish goalkeeper. Costil is believed to be the ideal replacement for Boruc and talks to sign the 29-year-old are already well under way. Bournemouth hope to secure a deal for Costil at the end of the season and in the early stages of the transfer window.Costil made his debut for France's national team last season against the Ivory Coast.
