DFB urges players to win Euro 2008

04 February 2008 - 15:25

The German Football Association - Deutscher Fußball-Bund, has announced a bonus scheme if they win the Euro 2008

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The DFB and the senior players of the German squad met on Sunday and have agreed on the bonus scheme of €250,000 a man if they win the Euro 2008.

The scheme will see each memeber receive €50,000 if they make it through the first phase. It will rise to €100,000 for semi-finals and €150,000 if they lose in the final. The quarter-million each will be awarded if they win the cup.

The last time they won the cup was in 1996.

In the last two occasions, they crashed out in the first stage. This move would surely boost the team to have a major improvement in the performance
