Arsenal defender is unlikely to shake off a groin strain for Ivory Coast, and will miss the semi-final clash against Egypt.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Toure sustained the injury in the Elephants' second group game.

"It would astonish me if he played," Ivory Coast media officer Eric Kakou said.

Egypt striker Mohamed Zidan is a doubtful starter, having picked up an ankle injury before the quarter-final against Angola.

The raining champions have broke little sweat to get to the semi-final but still find themselves as underdogs against Ivory Coast.

"Ivory Coast are a strong team and we think it is going to be a tough and difficult match for both of us, because we know each other very well," coach Hassan Shehata said.

"We managed to beat them in the 2006 final and of course we would like to repeat that.

"I think now we are in good shape and we managed not to lose a game since the beginning of the tournament.

"The players are also determined to win because our target is to defend our title."
